The Tourism Bureau of MOTC Highly Encourages International Travelers to Take HSR and Enjoy Arts and Culture in Central and Southern Regions, Two for One

To welcome international travelers to Taiwan for sightseeing, encourage them to visit new attractions in Central and Southern Taiwan, and experience the charms of artistic performances, the Tourism Bureau of MOTC has continued to cooperate with the Taiwan High-speed Rail (HSR) Company to launch a “Two for One” preferential program. This special offer is available from September 16, (2019) this year to January 20, (2020) next year. All foreign travelers holding short-term tourist visas can purchase HSR one-way tickets for designated routes, as long as the destination is south of Taichung HSR station (including: Taichung, Chang hua, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Zuoying Stations),and enjoy free travel for the second travel companion on the same trip.

Last year, the first round of “HSR Tour in Taiwan• Two for One Preferential Program” was launched for international travelers, and successfully attracted international travelers to visit tourism highlights and activities in central and southern Taiwan, including the Taichung World Flora Expo, National Taichung Theater, National Kaohsiung Cultural Center for the Arts, and the 30th Taiwan Lantern Festival in Ping tung, etc. In order to continue attracting visitors, the Tourism Bureau cooperated again with Taiwan HSR company to launch another special preferential program. Various dealer channels ( KKday, KLOOK, and Lion Lions) also provide matching discounts to tie-in with the preferential program, including free shuttle services at scenic spots as well as tour discounts, etc., jointly attracting international tourists to Taiwan for sightseeing.

In addition, in order to implement the new concept of “Promote Tourism through Cultural Themes” and to encourages international tourists to come to Taiwan to relish art and immerse themselves in Taiwan’s local lifestyle, the Tourism Bureau has collaborated with the National Performing Arts Center by launching a special preferential program for international passenger recently. Free guided Tours at three venues are provided to foreign visitors with short-term entry visas to Taiwan, including National Theater & Concert Hall, National Taichung Theater, National Kaohsiung Cultural Center for the Arts, plus two people enjoy art and cultural programs for the price of one, encouraging international tourists to enjoy arts and culturevia HSR and experience the diverse tourism elements of Taiwan.

Next year (2020), Taiwan Lantern Festival will be grandly held in Taichung from February 8th to 23rd surrounding the theme of forests. It is anticipated to provide visitors with visual, hearing, touch, and smell experiences which are colorful and distinctively different from previous years. The Tourism Bureau of MOTC welcomes international travelers to invite their travel companions to take HSR to the Lantern Festival in central Taiwan, eat gourmet food, and watch beautiful scrivener, by taking in-depth tours in Taiwan.

This preferential program will provide the most affordable Taiwanese HSR prices for international travelers, so they can enjoy comfortable and convenient services. The promotion will be launched online globally at noon on Monday, September 16th, Taiwan time, and is limited to foreign travelers on short-term visitors to Taiwan.This does not apply to those reside in Taiwan long term to work or study, and the number of discounts is limited.
