Taichung City Government Invites Citizens to Visit Taichung and Experience the Charm of Life style in Taichung on Domestic Travels in Autumn and Winter

In order to boost citizens’ domestic tourism consumption’s, from September 1st to December 31st, 2019, an “Extended Autumn and Winter Domestic Travel Incentive Program” was launched, including four preferential schemes, “Group Travel Discount”, “Accommodation Discounts for Self-Guided Travelers”, “Discounts for Sightseeing and Recreational Admissions” and “Tourism Preferential Events Organized by Associations”, to promote the development of overall industries of “food, accommodation, tour, shopping, and travel” related to tourism.
[Preferential Schemes]:
Option I, “Group Travel Discount”
Incentives are available to legitimate travel agencies which organize packaged domestic group travel itineraries. Each agency is limited to 30 groups, and the days of travel should be more than 2 days and 1 night, with no more than one day’s itinerary on holidays. Accommodations must be arranged at legitimate hotels or guesthouses and legitimate transportation must be used.
Option II, ” Accommodation Discounts for Self-Guided Travelers ”
Incentives are available to Taiwanese citizens (one use per ID card) who check in from Sunday to Friday during the period of preferential program at hotels or guesthouses participating in this preferential program. Up to NT$ 1,000 discount can be applied per room per night based on the actual accommodation rate. Citizens can search for participating legitimate hotels and guesthouses by visiting the page of “Extended Accommodation Incentive Program for Domestic Travels in Autumn and Winter”” (https://fallwintertour.tbroc.gov.tw/), and book rooms directly with participating operators or through the “Second-Generation Taiwanstay.net.tw Online Booking System” established by Taiwanstay.net.tw.
Passengers should go to the event page on the website before check-in, scan and upload their ID document files, and show the original ID documents upon check-in for the travel and lodging operator to verify, and the operator will redeem the discount at check-in.
Option III, “Discounts for Sightseeing and Recreational Park Admissions”
Effective during workdays and weekends, all domestic children under 12 years of age may choose one sightseeing and recreational park to enjoy one free admission once, excluding admissions paid by travel agency on behalf of the children. Upon entry into the park, the incentive receiver must submit a photocopy of his or her health insurance card to the operator, sign or stamp, and fill up his or her contact phone number.
The city’s participating sightseeing and recreational industry operators include “Lihpao Resort” and “Dongshih Forest Garden”. The city’s Lihpao Resort offer additional free rides on Sky Dream Roller coaster for children under 12 years of age with valid day pass stamp. Discounts are also available for up to four accompanying relatives and friends.
Additional Offers by Taichung City Government
Taichung City Government’s Tourism and Travel Bureau matches major upcoming tourism festivals during September and December,including Taichung Bicycle Carnival – Bike Taiwan in September, the Taichung International Dance Carnival in October, and the Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival from November to December, so after staying in Taichung City’s accommodations, tourists can receive limited number of event souvenirs as well as participate in lucky draw for air tickets, accommodation vouchers, etc., upon presenting supporting documents to event service desks on-site during the current month, such as invoices or receipts.
